While bLink will still record GPS coordinates, it won't be able to transmit this data to the server without a 4G connection. This may occur far from shore across the coastline or in areas near land where tall mountains block signal coverage. What to do in these situations: Open the application and manually set the GPS position where you deployed the fishing gear. The surface buoy won't be able to transmit the position until it regains signal coverage. However, the bright search LEDs remain functional, providing assistance in locating the buoy visually. We recommend using a submerged buoy as a backup in case the fishing gear is lost. The submerged buoy will float to the surface when released, making it easier to locate the lost gear with its bright LEDs. Important to note: Even without a signal, bLink records GPS coordinates. When you return to an area with 4G coverage, the buoy will upload all stored data automatically to your application. Future updates, including 5G satellite connectivity, will eliminate coverage issues.
